The Waskatenau Trail Hub

Situated near the historic North Saskatchewan River Valley, Waskatenau provides direct access to a network of trails, including the Waskatenau Nature Trail, The Alberta Iron Horse Trail, Trans Canada Trail, Victoria Trail, and the larger Carlton Trail. These trails offer a variety of activities such as hiking, biking, ATV riding, snowmobiling, and exploring the region's historical sites, establishing Waskatenau as a central hub for trail enthusiasts.

Iron Horse Trail Staging area - Trail Network Centre

The Waskatenau Iron Horse Trail Staging Area serves as the literal gateway to the Lakeland region and marks the starting point of the Iron Horse Trail's western section. Located only 60-90 minutes from Edmonton, it is the closest launching point for both Edmonton and Calgary visitors. With over 300 km of ridable trails and several hundred additional kilometers connecting to other routes, this staging area has become the new trail network centre of the Lakeland region
